P.D.M.A. is directed by a Board of Directors consisted of five members, appointed by the Minister of Economy & Finance:
- The General Secretary of Fiscal Policy of the Ministry of Economy & Finance, as Chairman of the Board
- The Director General of Fiscal Policy and Budget as Deputy Chairman, deputized by the Director of the General Government Budget Directorate
- One of the Deputy General Directors of the Bank of Greece, deputized by one of the Directors of the Bank of Greece
- The Secretary General of Economic Policy of the Hellenic Ministry of Economy & Finance, deputized by the Director General of the Financial Policy of the Ministry of Economy & Finance
- The General Director of P.D.M.A. deputized by the Alternate General Director of P.D.M.A, according to the Law 4941/2022 (Government Gazette 113/Α).
The purpose of the Organization is the undertaking of the financing of the Greek State, the servicing of the public debt, the optimization of the cost of funding and the achievement of the best possible structure of the public debt, especially in terms of its composition and duration, according to the needs of the country and the prevailing international economic conditions, as well as for the management of the cash reserves of the Greek State.
Public Debt Management Agency (P.D.M.A.) is a legal entity under public law, which was established according to the Law N. 2628/6.7.1998 (Government Gazette 151 Α’), N. 3965/18.5.2011 (Government Gazette 113A’) and N. 4223/31.12.2013 (Government Gazette 287 A'), with registered seat in Athens, Hellas.
